Confusion Compounded Internationally (CCI)

Times of India is shifting totally to CCI newsgate, that will be the end of deadlines. Whoever developed the software has obviously not made a page, at least, not as a primary responsibility, with a tight deadline. There’s a process for everything, the developer has been meticulous about that, but in the rough and tumble of a newsroom, you do not need a “process,” you need an instant response to a lightning quick decision. If you try to do that on CCI, you will end up with an irredeemable mess. Making a page on CCI is a work of art and it takes as long. I am willing to give this software the benefit of doubt. It may work for papers which do not focus on design. But in a paper that is obsessive about design, CCI is an unmitigated disaster.
